Under the provisions of the “Carriage Duties Act”, every person keeping a Carriage must pay the Duty on the same to the Colonial Treasury on the 15th October in each year, or be liable to a penalty not exceeding (£10) Ten Pounds.
Schedule of Duties
|For a Carriage on 4 wheels drawn by one horse or mule
|For a carriage on 2 wheels drawn by one or more horses or mules
|For a carriage on 4 wheels drawn by more than one horse or mule
|For any number of Carriages owned by one person
|Carriages for Hire For every Licence to keep one such Carriage
|For every Licence to keep two or more Carriages
Persons requiring Licences must apply to the Colonial Treasury, and in their application state whether their Carriages have two or four wheels, and whether drawn by one or two horses.
